Family Fun Carnival

Our ward was invited to an Eagle Mountain North Stake carnival last Saturday. Destinee stayed the night with my parents for a sleepover Friday night and Steve was still working, so I took Peyton and Oakley and decided to go. I volunteered to make cupcakes for a game, so I made watermelon cupcakes, and on some of them, I made butterflies to go on top. The pictures make them look a little odd, but they looked really pretty, and on the inside I put mini chocolate chips for the watermelon seeds. At the carnival the kids got snow cones, popcorn, hotdogs, and homemade root beer. They were able to have their faces painted, watch a magic show, go fishing in the fish pond, get balloon animals, play the cake walk, ride the animal train, and much more. The kids had so much fun and I was glad that I was able to take them!!! Here are some pics taken... This month we have several birthdays, but I was wanting to make this recipe I found in the friend at the beginning of August. This cake was made famous by president Monson's mother, so I decided to make it in celebration of his 85th birthday. I took the cake to Steve's parents house, and the cake tasted amazing, and of course I have to make it fun colors! Destinee also started her first day of school as a third grader. I can't believe how time flies and the summer went by so so fast for us. I have to take pictures of course of her heading off to school! One of the pictures is of her and her friend Rachel who is in her class this year. Peyton will be starting preschool at the beginning of September and I am so excited for her!

Chadwick family reunion

This year, we had Steve's family reunion in provo over the 4th of July. Steve ended up working, but I took the girls to all the activities we had. We did the freedom parade in the morning on the 4th of July. Afterwards, we went to a large gym and played on trampolines, swings, etc. We had a big bbq that night and watched the stadium of fire firework show from my in-laws balcony. The next day we went to a church pavilion and had a BIG breakfast and played on a large slip-n-slide, (the kids loved it). We then went back to Steve's parents home for the afternoon and then I took his sisters to a movie that night. Everything was a lot of fun and the kids had a ton of fun playing with all the cousins!

Summer sun and fun

We are having a great summer! I love being close to family again and being able to spend time with them. As usual, we have had the chance to do quite a bit of boating. We are loving the new boat and I think everyone that has gone out would agree. In the slideshow there are pictures of boating, swimming, playing, skating, and much much more. It is all very random and boating took place at Utah Lake, Starvation Reservoir, and Deer Creek Reservoir. We look forward to more play before school starts up again. :(

Summer activities

Summer is by far my favorite season of the year. There is nothing better than the kids out of school, warm weather, and swimming, boating, etc. I have taken the girls to seven peaks a couple of times in June and they love it there. I have a couple pictures of the kids on the slide. I didn't get any other pictures because were too busy chasing them! Driving to Seven Peaks. Destinee is obsessed with taking pictures of herself while we are driving. She is too cute. Oakley coming out Oakie and my nephew Jackson Steve's sister Hannah. All those little blondes Miss Peyton The girls like to go outside on our front porch (or back porch) and have lunch. So we took their plates and blankets and had a little picnic out front. Here are a couple of pictures. It was a little windy, so Oakley put on a jacket. I laughed because it was like 90 degrees outside. Silly girl.

Fathers Day

I love being able to have a day to celebrate fathers. I have a wonderful father who I admire, and my father-in-law is just as much my dad also. I love being able to spoil Steve a little bit once a year and let him know how much we love and adore him. I wanted to do something fun this year, because I had no idea what to get him. So I made him a "Super Dad" box of goodies. It turned out really cute. I had one more thing for him that I am not quite finished with, so I will post that when it is finished. I then made a grandpa's "stache" of candy that was cute too. I spent the night with my family eating amazing bbq'd food and in good conversation. Happy Father's Day to all those great dad's out there!

Lake Powell

I look forward to Lake Powell in the summer almost more than anything else. The warm weather and water are the best!!! This year we had a large group and it was kind of crazy, but we had a lot of fun. We did some surfing, wake boarding, cliff jumping, jumping off our ramp we made, and much more. We did get a little sand blasted while were there... but overall it was a blast. The kids have now been asking when we are going back to the big beach and when we can go boating again. LOVE IT! There are like 76 pictures in the slide show, so sit back and relax!

My brother's wedding at Oquirrah Mountain Temple

Here is a little slideshow of the girls at the temple. I made their skirts and ended up loving them. The bright colors against the gray's of the temple were so pretty. Destinee's skirt honestly looked like it was glowing. It was a beautiful day.

Turning 50 and a bridal shower

My awesome mother-in-law just turned 50 this last Friday. You would never know that she was 50 unless she told you. She is absolutely amazing. I don't know many women who at the age of 50 who have 13 kids ranging from 28-year-old to 4-years-old, wakeboard, ride motorcycles, jump on trampolines, run half marathons, and love life like her. So I teamed up with Steve's sister Nikki and we put together a little surprise birthday party for her. We went to a park up Provo Canyon and had some food, cake, and watched an awesome video that Nikki put together. We all did short little videos for her and found a bunch of pictures of mom. It was the cutest thing and what a way to celebrate her birthday. I only had a couple pics but here they are...
m
What a doll she is!!!! Then yesterday (Saturday) my sister-in-law, my mother, and I threw a bridal shower for my future sister-in-law, Tatiana. I was really excited to do the shower because this is my baby brother and the last in our family. So this was a lot of fun for me to do. The invitations said... "He popped the question, and she said yes." So that being our theme, everything had to do with "POP". Here is a look of the food and decorations we had...
The food was divine and we had a bright pink punch that was delicious and so colorful water too, that I forgot to take pictures of. Decor... some of the pictures were bad lighting
Party favors for everyone to take home. Some pictures of the party itself.
The happy couple after the shower was over. Who knows why the camera was blurry at the bottom.
The women hosting the shower. From left to right. My mother, sister-in-law Kira, ME, The bride tatiana, and her maid of honor megan.
And of course, Oakley has to be included. Loving the outfit? She changed at least 3 times during the shower. Kind of funny she is. The shower ended up being a blast, we had a great turnout, and now we are focusing on the wedding which is on June 1, and shortly after.. our week trip to Lake Powell. So excited!!!

First boating trip of the year!

Alright... Saturday, April 21 was our first boating day of the year. Yes you heard me correctly, APRIL!!!! It was a beautiful day and the water was not too bad. We had a large group with us and it was a blast! Everyone did some wake boarding as usual.. and then we filled our ballast system and surfed. I am loving this new boat, and I think that everyone else did too!! I have quite a few pictures so bare with me as they are all loaded on!
Steve jumping the wake, showing all of us what's up!
Steve's brother Kyle doing his thing
Steve's sister Cherrisa about to crash! Nice air though
Myself wake boarding.. although the pic is not the greatest.
Steve's sister Brittanie doing a little hop!
Steve's brother Aaron
Steve's sister Lindsy
My sweet Destinee. She didn't even get into the water that day, but had fun with the kids.
Here was the crew.. There were a couple people not in this picture that were on the back of the boat.
Here is the crew looking the other way! Now, new this year with the boat is the ability to surf!!! I had no idea that it would be so much fun, and everyone that has now surfed loves it. I anticipate some fun this summer with this new found joy.
